Amy Simmons, CSWA, CADC I, QMHP
Amy Simmons is a Certified Social Work Associate (CSWA) through the State of Oregon and holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) specializing in Child, Youth and Family Services from Portland State University. She is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADC I) through the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon. She completed her undergraduate studies at Multnomah University.
Amy has spent her career working with adolescents in various capacities, including residential treatment, outpatient Drug and Alcohol counseling, suicide prevention and trauma recovery work. Amy is currently the manager of Deceptions, a child trafficking prevention program.
Amy works with youth and families, believing deeply that creating honest and open communication is the bedrock of empathy. She draws upon an eclectic array of practice modalities and psychodynamic theories including Trauma Theory; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative therapy guided by a strengths-based and trauma informed approach.
