The Position

This position oversees the quality and direction of the youth and adult outpatient treatment programs to ensure these programs are in compliance with OARS as well as NWFS policies and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Ensure supervision, compliance, and case sharing is provided for to active CADC employees and interns.
  • Maintain ongoing and consistent supervision documentation for each staff member supervised.
  • Manage direct reports which includes department oversight, mentoring, hiring, performance management, and quality control.
  • Ensure adequate caseloads for all direct reports.
  • Ensure that appropriate referrals occur as needed for physical and behavioral health needs.
  • Conduct weekly file reviews to assess the care and length of treatment based on ASAM and oversight.
  • Audit the Electronic Health Records, BestNotes.
  • Ensure that all direct reports submit cases, assessments, and other documentation to the medical director and billing personnel in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director as well as school-based SUD program supervisors on program/grant goals.
  • Receive Clinical Supervision as defined by the Department of Human Services Addictions and Mental Health Division Integrated Services and Supports rules.
  • Represent NWFS SUD programs in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties.


Education / Experience

  • Must be a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor II or III as certified by the Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO).
  • At least 4 years supervising SUD staff and implementing SUD programs.
  • Must have extensive experience in youth SUD treatment and demonstrate a working knowledge of evidence-based treatment.


Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of community and social service agencies.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in counseling and case management techniques with individuals and groups.
  • Able to build and maintain rapport with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds and personalities.
  • Knowledge of current best practice treatment for members and their family members needing addiction intervention and/or treatment services.     
  • Able to assess, diagnose, and treat youth and families.                 
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for reporting abuse and maintaining confidentiality.                                                                                                          
  • Working knowledge of accepted best practice protocols and ethical guidelines and behaviors for counselors, as identified by licensing and /or Certifying Boards
